  7. With SAM:Archive, pool of tapes, backup schedules and disk regions to be
  8. backed up are defined through simple, drop-down screen forms.  As backup
  9. functions are performed, SAM:Archive requests and verifies tapemounts, and the
  10. integrity of valuable backup data.  Any user can request retrieval and
  11. restore of any file that they are allowed to access.  SAM:Archive prompts for
  12. the proper tape to be mounted, and performs the restore.  If a restore is
  13. needed from tapes stored off-site, the system generates a report requesting
  14. delivery of the tapes needed.

  16. SAM:Archive is a member of the SCH:SAM suite; a set of platform-independent
  17. UNIX system management tools.  SCH:SAM is available for both character and X
  18. window (motif) terminals.  SAM:Archive is available as an individual component
  19. or as part of the bundled SCH:SAM suite.
